This year's Poppy collection is being split into two waves. For the 'gotta have everything' collectors, this lets them have some time to save up for a second wave of dolls...or rather stretches out their torturous wait for months and then drops the first wave right before the convention followed by the second wave right after convention in time for the holidays. Because really...does my actually NEED more toys for Christmas? I mean priorities, right? I had high expectations for this line and I like some of it, but happily, I did not NEED most of it. I am currently really pleased with the dolls that I have already and the Industry dolls are doing a land grab on Poppy territory in the wild wild west know as Detolf . I also don't have the room to expand and none of these make me want to replace one of the versions that I already own. Honestly, these dolls really did not have a chance when compared to the utter perfection of Big Eyes and Kicks! That being said, I still...

I think IT got tired of the rampant and wild speculation about the final two offerings in the Jem line...so they finally put us out of our misery. The Sophisticated Lady gift set looks pretty swell. I am very excited to get a Jerrica with a smiling Jem head. I also like the outfit choices. I am sad the line is ending though my wallet will be happy. It is a HUGE bummer that we are not getting another Shana or Aja. I was wildly disappointed that one of the final four was BLOODY WEDDING KIMBER!  I cannot think of a single doll that I wanted LESS.  Ugh. I still live in hope that they will just release some nude dolls at the very least. If not I might try to hunt down the sculpts from the Style labs and just make another custom version. Happily for my etsy store and custom outfits, I can now make things knowing that IT will not be making an official version.  I will be making quite a few new outfits this summer. I waffled a bit about pre-ordering this doll sight unseen but she turned out to be pretty stunning. I was hoping that the jumpsuit was going to be turquoise or coral. I am not sure if I am in love with this fashion in this color but I like the purse and shoes. The screening on the doll is nice. She looks a lot like Intimate Reveal (whom I adore) and has that "Bitch I will cut you!" look about her. The hair looks a bit like a helmet...and hopefully can get softer without getting too frizzy. I think I will decide on whether she stays or goes once she is in hand. Happily it looks like many wclub collectors are regretting that they skipped her (what's the doll equivalent of FOMO?  FOMD?). So I expect she won't be difficult to sell or trade.

Vintage glamour returns. Many of us were missing Victoire, myself included...and I am losing any hope that Katy Keene will come back. This new vintage line designed by Chris Stoeckel is very welcome. The four doll collection has a wonderful backstory around the fashion and marketing world in the Mad Men era 1950s New York. The initial descriptions tell us that Victoire Roux will be joining this line later on. Victoire's story was in the forties so I am assuming we will get a slightly more mature Victoire.  I imagine they will need to do a new sculpt for her to make her work with these wonderful new faces for these ladies. Victoire currently is more stylized...but perhaps with a less stylized facial screening the current mold could work? We shall see. It is all very exciting. It also sounds like there will be a vintage homme coming eventually as well. Yummy. This era makes diversity a challenge but I really hope they add a character of color in this line too...maybe a Broadway ac...

The bloodletting has begun. Hold your credit card out in sacrifice to the doll overlords. There will be no mercy. You will want them all and do anything to get them. Maybe a little dramatic...? But sometimes doll collecting feels like a high stakes, cut throat death race (*cough* trouble eden ebay prices). It seems like every year I swear that I will cut back only to give in again and get bled dry. In case you missed it (and if you missed it...then you REALLY missed it), the IT Fashion Fairytales Convention registration went on sale last Sunday.  Much tears and sweat and cursing were had by all who tried (and tried and tried and tried) to register.  The 500 spots sold out in record time and the process was riddled with server errors and time-outs evidently caused by a naughty member using bots or something high tech and jerk-like.  I sadly cannot go this year because the final saturday of the convention is the exact same day as one of my first dress rehearsal (le sig...

W Club just offered a bonus surprise to members that probably resulted in a collective "squee" heard round the world.  We got the chance to enter for the Eden Trouble doll and at only 700...people were considering mad voodoo to ensure that they get her. (I was one of them...I don't have style mantra Eden and I WANTS THIS ONE...MY PRECIOUS!) I ended up with three memberships this year (long story)...so here's hoping one of those memberships will score me this girl. The surprise was that IT decided to give all members the right to buy Smoke and Mirrors Lillith, created to keep club members that don't win Lillith from rising up in anger. I think I might even like her a bit better...but of course I still want Eden.  I'm tempted to get two because I would like to give her an ombre effect perhaps. I'm running a but behind on ye olde blog due to ye olde life.  So here is some old news... Dave Buttry's Industry line has debuted. I was pretty excited about the line after the super adorbs giftset we got at the 2016 Supermodel Convention.  The initial promises of a variety of ages also had me interested.  The reality was a little lacking for me, mostly because of the blah color palette.  Yes, I know black is always fashionable, but I prefer a bit more color...or at least some pops of color mixed with the funereal blackathon. I guess when I heard a variety of age ranges...I, like most, thought Grace Coddington or Anna Wintour...not a doll in her thirties (gasp....SO OLD). Le sigh.  Hopefully a silver dragon lady is coming later.  For now you can always use the older Coven ladies for your bitchy fashion editor character. I still live in hope that Integrity will add a full figure sculpt to its lineups soon.  And again...where are the AA characters? T...
