Nu.Fantasy Returns! Mark Tinkey of Integrity Toys Unveils the First of the Coven Couture Collection

Image
Well I do love me some darkness in my dolls...also anything McQueen inspired. Here is the original dress.  One of my favs that I have used as inspiration for costume designs as well. As many had anticipated, it was revealed that the promised revival line by Mark Tinkey is indeed Nu.Fantasy.  This is the first of four dolls in this collection. Mark promised that there would be diverse representation in the dolls (all featuring Fashion Royalty 6.0 bodies and sculpts). He also indicated that this doll has the most black of the four in the fashion.  The inspiration is decadent couture and high fashion witches. I will just die if one of these dolls is wearing the red Balenciaga dress worn by Myrtle in AHS:Coven.  I am in love with the accessories especially and will likely try to the lottery if only to get the headpiece. I will most likely keep the dress but reserve judgement until I see it in person (assuming I can get the chance to buy her).  I don't need t...

Legendary IT 2020 Convention Saturday Recap: W Club and Jason Wu Gala

Image
Woo boy. I am still trying to process both this day, this convention, and the world right now.  I have burst into tears like five times today (out of joy and relief and weariness).  I likely say this every year, but Integrity Toys is a great company.  They go out of their way to take the collectors into consideration. They get it wrong sometimes, but more often than not...they get it right.  Happy 25th Anniversary Integrity Toys! So the Jason Wu Gala started with the centerpiece reveal designed by Jessy Ayala. Haute Desire Dania Zarr was inspired by Most Desired Eugenia. This gal is wearing a nice intricately draped gown in an electric purple color. She looks pretty in the Hungarian tone (one of my favs) with the brunette hair. Nice piece but again...no gowns for me. I passed mine onto to a fellow collector on the board in order to earn dolly karma (it's real y'all).  Then Carol Roth interviewed Jason Wu. He spoke of his origins with the company and also spoke a...

Legendary 2020 IT Convention Style Lab Recap Part One: The Dolls

Image
Well, I managed to secure a complete style lab from someone so I have the whole lot coming my way...which is great because I love the fashions and at least three of the dolls.  ACCESSORY PACKS FOR THE WIN!!!!  Anyway...thoughts about the dolls below. I am not feeling the 'mugshots' on the presentation.  I get the feeling this was all a little rushed this year. I think these will be better in hand. I was not expecting this many 1.0 sculpts, but I will get into that below. $60 for a nude doll is basically a steal even if you plan to toss the head in the trash...so all in all, this is a great style lab. There was A LOT of whining on the boards about the 1.0 dolls and fashions.  I don't understand the hate on the fashions. I do understand that no one really was screaming for Adele and Natalia 1.0 sculpts to come back (especially without updating the screening in a significant way).  But they still have their fans I guess. Final 2018 W Club Doll: Secret Garden Eugenia

Image
So I have never been a huge Eugenia fan. (I know...some of you are clutching your pearls in horror). I currently have two of her (the blonde from the Cinematic convention) that I used to make my Coven Cordelia. There have been gorgeous Eugenias in the past but usually I have been late to the party and can't afford her. Otherwise, I just haven't felt the need. I am still on the fence about this latest offering.  Like I can't buy a whole big expensive giftset JUST because I need that purse?  right?  RIGHT? First of all, I don't do poofy gowns. But LOOKIT that purse! its like a little McQueen skull clutch .  Actually all the accessories are amazing (well maybe not the tulle scarf that likely came from the floor of the design room). But once again, can I actually justify ordering a whole $175 set for the little bits. In the long run, it would be more cost effective to do so and then just sell off the funeral prom dress and Eugenia and then keep the accessories and...
