Alyrenee's Copious Spare Time

  The 2023 Club year was a bit of a sloppy drunk.  Let's call her Sheila. Sheila is generally good fun, but occasionally she takes FOREVER, says the wrong thing, over-serves herself, and then spends a lot of time apologizing. Get a hold of yourself, Sheila! Here is a photo showing what I ordered from this year (though it is missing the Wildflower Misaki doll which I did order. This is easily the least amount of stuff I have ordered in a club year. I really liked all of the True Industry line up but was trying to be good. I already have versions that I love of all of those characters and don't want to repeat sculpts with them. I did not have a Jasper or an Auden though and I liked them both enough to enter in the lottery. I got Auden but not Jasper sadly (hoping I will find a takeover later).  Carol's "eating workshop" began with the usual sharing of the rules and a new request for people to not yuck each other's yum. I appreciated that as, in general, I turn off the comments for any presentation so I don't have to see that nonsense and tend to block W Club users that just trash what other like.  It is fine to disagree and voice that opinion...but some people just have no class. Here is a run down of the information shared: The design talk commenced then with Vaughn Sawyers, Jessy Ayala, David Buttry, Chris Stoeckel, Alain Trembley, and Carol Roth.  Here we are. Virtual convention has begun. Earlier this month, convention ticket holders were treated to a little pre-celebration goodie bag that had a shopping bag, lanyard, badge, schedule, and a little case with spare hands and a cosmetic set. It was a thoughtful touch and helped build a little excitement. (Though a little less exciting for International collectors which had to pay customs on it..boo).  And finally the day is here.  I will admit to being slightly less than enthusiastic...mostly because it is hard to get psyched when you know you will still have to wait awhile to get the dolls (due to ongoing shipping delays).   However, my excitement level rose quite a bit when they introduced Mark Tinkey as the designer for the welcome doll and it turned out to be a Nu Fantasy giftset!He is so charming and really brings a lot of passion and joy to his work.  I appreciate the playability here and the thoughtful way he put this set together...even thinki...

  Well I do love me some darkness in my dolls...also anything McQueen inspired. Here is the original dress.  One of my favs that I have used as inspiration for costume designs as well. As many had anticipated, it was revealed that the promised revival line by Mark Tinkey is indeed Nu.Fantasy.  This is the first of four dolls in this collection. Mark promised that there would be diverse representation in the dolls (all featuring Fashion Royalty 6.0 bodies and sculpts). He also indicated that this doll has the most black of the four in the fashion.  The inspiration is decadent couture and high fashion witches. I will just die if one of these dolls is wearing the red Balenciaga dress worn by Myrtle in AHS:Coven.  I am in love with the accessories especially and will likely try to the lottery if only to get the headpiece. They have been teasing us with a gorgeous Agnes face all weekend and many were expecting/hoping that she was going to appear at the lunch event.  She did not. I am wondering if she is going to end up being an extra special bonus or maybe a made to order dealie.
