Legendary Convention Upgrade Dolls, W Club Luncheon, Theories, and a Wishlist

So we got our first peak of what might be in store for the upcoming Legendary virtual doll Convention from Integrity Toys this fall.  These two upgrade dolls, as imagined in sketches by designer Jessy Ayala, feature Adele 2.0 and Vero 2.0 in updos and a little white and black dresses, respectively.  These are callbacks to similarly named old school Jason Wu designs from the early years and feature the two characters that started it all. So this is leading many to hypothesize that much of the convention offerings will also be new takes on some classic looks from years past. I am guessing that will be the case and I am here for it. I wonder if that will also be true for the Poppy offerings too? We shall see. I would kill to get some redos of the first Poppy mod collection. 

I talked myself down off ordering both of the upgrades for now.  I am tempted by Adele...but I don't really love or need either of these fashions. I suspect that they won't be too tricky to acquire later via the waitlist if I change my mind. What with Jem collection coming in July...I need to be strategic about spending since the world is still on fire as well. 

I did go ahead and get the W Club Luncheon.  Generally these dolls have been pretty solid in years past. This year we have the Nu Face souvenir with the option for a FR Centerpiece (not an NF centerpiece).  So, this is leading people to think the two dolls might be connected via family ties.  Giselle and Agnes. Dominique and Adele. Violane and Vanessa/Veronique. All would be cool options. It also could go with love interests...which would open up Lukas maybe.  But then again, they could also be totally unrelated as well. Who knows. 

So if we are going to see some re-envisioned classics...now is the time to start dreaming. For me, I would love to see redos of Agnes Optic Verve or Intimate Reveal, Nadja Out of Sight, Poppy She's Not There or Day Tripper, Kyori Buena Sera, and maybe a Homme that we've not seen in a while. With the Style Lab being FR, I expect that here is where we will see some of these redos.  I hope that is the case rather than it being a 1.0 sculpt fiesta. In general, I prefer the newer sculpts on all of the dolls. But perhaps with updated screenings I could be convinced. Weeeee.  It's going to be exciting!

Well, surprise it's another twin. People on W Club seemed mostly jazzed.  I was like....hmmm. Not sure. It feels like a whole lot of lazy rehash.  That dress seems like a variation on a dress from Luxe Life Eugenia and the jacket is the same one we got on Karolin at Live from Fashion Week (which (I sold off) The hair color is almost identical to the recent Violaine doll (whom I ADORE).  But I do love the mint dress (it has pocketssss!) and shoes quite a bit.  I am not loving the hairstyle at all and would definitely be removing the Snooki pouf hair . I love fantasy hair...but wish it weren't so similar to Violaine.  I've been wanting a minty haired doll...and maybe this one would be a perfect re-root candidate.  So I am still a little undecided.  Someone also pointed out that her stock number (82120A) could possibly indicate a corresponding Lilith version (82120B?) is coming our way (possibly for Dolly days?). Which sort of panic scares me into ordering her...hmmm.

Paris Doll Convention News

The Paris Doll Convention was this past weekend. Pictures can be seen here courtesy of the fantabulous Gerda! There was a gorgeous Raven hair Ellowyne with cute bangs and a ponytail and smokey eye makeup called Paris Blue limited to 250. The Sybarite event doll for the Saturday evening banquet was a bright red wigged doll with hot pink eye makeup and a gold and pink evening gown called Epocholypse. There was also a Raven version in a black and silver gown limited to 20 available via a special drawing. Both have lovely face paint and the wigs are in a cute haute heidi braid look. The dresses are nice..but i am not a big fan of Superdoll's gowns. I love their unique sportswear looks more. I am the same with Tonner gowns as well. Some lucky ducks walked away with the new Sybarite Fashion Victim dolls. I am very jealous as these look FABULOUS. I so want that mohawk pink wig one.... IT Dolly Days East 59th La Femme Godiva Collection with New Characters!

  Well another gorgeous set of dolls from designer Christ Stoeckel. He and Mark Tinkey are definitely favs at the moment. The clothing here is lovely and highly detailed. We are getting two new characters which seem to be using some older sculpts.  I like them and I don't mind some stylization...but they do seem a touch out of step with the screening on Evelyn which seems more realistic.  I tried for Cora in the lottery and lost out.  I am hoping to jump on the wait list and maybe get lucky though. I am a big Mugler fan and this fashion on Cora is definitely a reference to a Mugler look as well as to Jerry Hall's locks (also a Mugler model). I missed out on preordering the rest of the ladies from the dealers.  I would really like to get Evelyn's outfit at some point.  I will be patient.
