Burning questions answered...

Design process:

JA: organic
CS: starts with fabric
DB: starts with movies,  fashion,  old magazines. Things the concept by Vaughn.
VS: fabric availability idea the biggest issue. Jason still the creative director of FR but the still be a shift for next year.  Generally Jason had been choosing dolls and dresses and hairstyles. Next year Jadon will be doing the saturday event with his Jason Wu line and Jessy doing FR and NuFace for convention. 
AT: exciting stuff for next year featuring every brand...

Timing of releases:

VS: China production issue.  Designing started earlier but they still ended up delayed.  Hairstyle samples were wrong.
CR: china going through turnover and changes. It's taking more rounds of samples to get it right. People being retrained.
VS: biggest delay in training for face paint and hairstyles.
AT: this year is exceptional.  Death Vadar going to the Death Star to strangle people. (Team going to china).
VS: deadline for next year convention is Dec 30th.
DB: starting the style lab on tuesday.

Character sculpts:

JA: violaine... wanted to reuse that sculpt and the family resemblance.
VS: we will always make changes.  Agnes likely won't change.  Oldest sculpts have less realism.  Need refreshing.

Faces of Adele treatment again:

JA: thought about it.
AT: box with 52 agnes heads... many moods of agnes

Collaborations:

DB: what's a good fit... possibility
AT: licenses add an element bur bur always realistic.  Likenesses
VS: sculpt approval took forget.  Jessica redone completely the times. 
DB: rupaul extension of an existing license

Club event dolls:

AT: Agnes is an IT direct/ w club exclusive.
CR: challenge between new and favorites

Next year:

CS: big event for a character and an old friend returns. New sculpt AA character.  Now wardrobe mix match concept.

DB: poppy keep in get time frame save for industry and club events. 1962-1972. Chip will make a return but she might get another love interest.  Keeping homme body for poppy and industry.  Tulabelle's mom an option... but she's actually David's age...90s supermodel age. Club doll repro inspired by bergdorf. Then another club doll.

JA: concentrating on a personal style for each character for NuFace. For Fashion Royalty a mix of nostalgia and futurism. Club dolls a continuation of Sacred Lotus and then Opulence.

VS: face sculpts... old sculpts refreshed and new sculpts. Male twins a possibility.

AT: diorama planned maybe for upgrade but coming.  Furniture planned. Dealers in Europe got increased quantities this year. He knows where you live...😊 but we do love our international customers.

Conventions:

AT: dealing with unions restricts the locations possible. Also ballroom size and affordability. Plus 40% international attendees need airport access.

W Club Exclusive Doll "Mademoiselle Eden" from Nu Face...

Well, surprise it's another twin. People on W Club seemed mostly jazzed.  I was like....hmmm. Not sure. It feels like a whole lot of lazy rehash.  That dress seems like a variation on a dress from Luxe Life Eugenia and the jacket is the same one we got on Karolin at Live from Fashion Week (which (I sold off) The hair color is almost identical to the recent Violaine doll (whom I ADORE).  But I do love the mint dress (it has pocketssss!) and shoes quite a bit.  I am not loving the hairstyle at all and would definitely be removing the Snooki pouf hair . I love fantasy hair...but wish it weren't so similar to Violaine.  I've been wanting a minty haired doll...and maybe this one would be a perfect re-root candidate.  So I am still a little undecided.  Someone also pointed out that her stock number (82120A) could possibly indicate a corresponding Lilith version (82120B?) is coming our way (possibly for Dolly days?). Which sort of panic scares me into ordering her...hmmm.

Paris Doll Convention News

The Paris Doll Convention was this past weekend. Pictures can be seen here courtesy of the fantabulous Gerda! There was a gorgeous Raven hair Ellowyne with cute bangs and a ponytail and smokey eye makeup called Paris Blue limited to 250. The Sybarite event doll for the Saturday evening banquet was a bright red wigged doll with hot pink eye makeup and a gold and pink evening gown called Epocholypse. There was also a Raven version in a black and silver gown limited to 20 available via a special drawing. Both have lovely face paint and the wigs are in a cute haute heidi braid look. The dresses are nice..but i am not a big fan of Superdoll's gowns. I love their unique sportswear looks more. I am the same with Tonner gowns as well. Some lucky ducks walked away with the new Sybarite Fashion Victim dolls. I am very jealous as these look FABULOUS. I so want that mohawk pink wig one.... IT Dolly Days East 59th La Femme Godiva Collection with New Characters!

  Well another gorgeous set of dolls from designer Christ Stoeckel. He and Mark Tinkey are definitely favs at the moment. The clothing here is lovely and highly detailed. We are getting two new characters which seem to be using some older sculpts.  I like them and I don't mind some stylization...but they do seem a touch out of step with the screening on Evelyn which seems more realistic.  I tried for Cora in the lottery and lost out.  I am hoping to jump on the wait list and maybe get lucky though. I am a big Mugler fan and this fashion on Cora is definitely a reference to a Mugler look as well as to Jerry Hall's locks (also a Mugler model). I missed out on preordering the rest of the ladies from the dealers.  I would really like to get Evelyn's outfit at some point.  I will be patient.
