New Jem Dolls!!! Starstruck Jem & Craig!

Finally.  Some new swag!  I am excited about the Starstruck outfit. I was always a big fan of this outfit on the cartoon and begged for the Hasbro outfit as a kid. It looks very well executed and those boots!!! BOOTS!  Love them.  I, like many collectors, were bummed that we are not getting the star-shaped guitar.  I might have to make my own.  The accessories on both of these dolls are a bit lackluster.  It would have liked to see acoustic drums for Craig. I am not completely in love with Craig.  I wish they would have used a new sculpt instead of repeating Riot. With the edition sizes being so low on these IT Direct exclusives, I dare not risk skipping him for fear that I would never be able to afford him if I change my mind later.  I plan to have him wear my vintage Hasbro green bomber jacket.

Based on an outfit initially called "Starstruck Guitar" released in 1986 as part of the original 80's toy line by HASBRO, Starstruck JEM is the design team's representation of this truly outrageous look. Contrary to the toy line where HOLOGRAMS band members were meant to wear this costume, it became a key look for JEM instead and was seen in many memorable episodes such as "Glitter 'n Gold" and "The Talent Search". Our version of Starstruck JEM features glittery golden makeup, a luscious two-toned hairstyle, a head band that matches her outfit and a flashy golden microphone, all she needs to rock on! 

JEM is a fully articulated 12.5-inch vinyl fashion doll with fully rooted hair and hand applied eyelashes. JEM comes with her signature Starstruck look, a golden microphone and mic stand, a golden record award, Jemstar earrings, bracelets and high-heeled boots. A doll stand is included as well. When we first meet Craig Phillips™ in the episode "The Talent Search", we soon discover his big secret: he is the brother of Mary "Stormer" Phillips of the Misfits! With this little fact unknown to JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS, Craig is invited to enter a talent search competition to become the band's new drummer after meeting AJA LEITH, one of the Holograms! Craig is a loyal and kind friend and will do anything to defend those he loves (especially his sister and new love AJA LEITH)! Part of a British band called the Blue Bloods, Craig loves to visit America often to see his sister and his friends, THE HOLOGRAMS!

W Club Exclusive Doll "Mademoiselle Eden" from Nu Face...

Well, surprise it's another twin. People on W Club seemed mostly jazzed.  I was like....hmmm. Not sure. It feels like a whole lot of lazy rehash.  That dress seems like a variation on a dress from Luxe Life Eugenia and the jacket is the same one we got on Karolin at Live from Fashion Week (which (I sold off) The hair color is almost identical to the recent Violaine doll (whom I ADORE).  But I do love the mint dress (it has pocketssss!) and shoes quite a bit.  I am not loving the hairstyle at all and would definitely be removing the Snooki pouf hair . I love fantasy hair...but wish it weren't so similar to Violaine.  I've been wanting a minty haired doll...and maybe this one would be a perfect re-root candidate.  So I am still a little undecided.  Someone also pointed out that her stock number (82120A) could possibly indicate a corresponding Lilith version (82120B?) is coming our way (possibly for Dolly days?). Which sort of panic scares me into ordering her...hmmm.

Paris Doll Convention News

The Paris Doll Convention was this past weekend. Pictures can be seen here courtesy of the fantabulous Gerda! There was a gorgeous Raven hair Ellowyne with cute bangs and a ponytail and smokey eye makeup called Paris Blue limited to 250. The Sybarite event doll for the Saturday evening banquet was a bright red wigged doll with hot pink eye makeup and a gold and pink evening gown called Epocholypse. There was also a Raven version in a black and silver gown limited to 20 available via a special drawing. Both have lovely face paint and the wigs are in a cute haute heidi braid look. The dresses are nice..but i am not a big fan of Superdoll's gowns. I love their unique sportswear looks more. I am the same with Tonner gowns as well. Some lucky ducks walked away with the new Sybarite Fashion Victim dolls. I am very jealous as these look FABULOUS. I so want that mohawk pink wig one.... IT Dolly Days East 59th La Femme Godiva Collection with New Characters!

  Well another gorgeous set of dolls from designer Christ Stoeckel. He and Mark Tinkey are definitely favs at the moment. The clothing here is lovely and highly detailed. We are getting two new characters which seem to be using some older sculpts.  I like them and I don't mind some stylization...but they do seem a touch out of step with the screening on Evelyn which seems more realistic.  I tried for Cora in the lottery and lost out.  I am hoping to jump on the wait list and maybe get lucky though. I am a big Mugler fan and this fashion on Cora is definitely a reference to a Mugler look as well as to Jerry Hall's locks (also a Mugler model). I missed out on preordering the rest of the ladies from the dealers.  I would really like to get Evelyn's outfit at some point.  I will be patient.
