30th Anniversary "Showtime" Jem Exclusive to ShopBop & More Jem Swag

After some wild speculation, we finally have photos of the ShopBop exclusive Jem.  Showtime Jem is basically a Classic Jem with the color variations seen on the cartoon.  The price is pretty reasonable and I think this is a nice way to give people another chance at the iconic look for Jem while still keeping the original Classic Jem special.  The edition size is very worrisome though.  I think they could have done 750 at least.  I know there are many collectors that missed the first version of her and yet more still that would like this color variation. Shopbop has limited it to two per customer and these could very well sell out in a hurry.  I still have not decided to try for her or not.  I would love to get the outfit variation but it is not really necessary.  I was even considering selling my Classic Jem recently...hmmmm.  Decisions.  Maybe if I do get this one, then I would sell Classic Jem.  

The non-smiling Jerrica face is a nice touch.  The original Hasbro Jem was similarly non-smiling. The grumpy Jem sculpt was replaced with a toothy grinned Jem for subsequent releases.  Now if we can get a Jerrica with the smiling Jem mold...that would be swell.  We still have the W Club Jem doll to come this year.  I am guessing it will be the long awaited Eric Raymond doll.  I keep hoping it will be a two doll set with Eric and Jerrica as his assistant in her adorable sweater vest outfit.

I am less concerned about getting this doll as I am about getting some of the other Jem swag.  I am hoping for some new fun shirts and maybe a bag or coffee mug.

W Club Exclusive Doll "Mademoiselle Eden" from Nu Face...

Well, surprise it's another twin. People on W Club seemed mostly jazzed.  I was like....hmmm. Not sure. It feels like a whole lot of lazy rehash.  That dress seems like a variation on a dress from Luxe Life Eugenia and the jacket is the same one we got on Karolin at Live from Fashion Week (which (I sold off) The hair color is almost identical to the recent Violaine doll (whom I ADORE).  But I do love the mint dress (it has pocketssss!) and shoes quite a bit.  I am not loving the hairstyle at all and would definitely be removing the Snooki pouf hair . I love fantasy hair...but wish it weren't so similar to Violaine.  I've been wanting a minty haired doll...and maybe this one would be a perfect re-root candidate.  So I am still a little undecided.  Someone also pointed out that her stock number (82120A) could possibly indicate a corresponding Lilith version (82120B?) is coming our way (possibly for Dolly days?). Which sort of panic scares me into ordering her...hmmm.

Paris Doll Convention News

The Paris Doll Convention was this past weekend. Pictures can be seen here courtesy of the fantabulous Gerda! There was a gorgeous Raven hair Ellowyne with cute bangs and a ponytail and smokey eye makeup called Paris Blue limited to 250. The Sybarite event doll for the Saturday evening banquet was a bright red wigged doll with hot pink eye makeup and a gold and pink evening gown called Epocholypse. There was also a Raven version in a black and silver gown limited to 20 available via a special drawing. Both have lovely face paint and the wigs are in a cute haute heidi braid look. The dresses are nice..but i am not a big fan of Superdoll's gowns. I love their unique sportswear looks more. I am the same with Tonner gowns as well. Some lucky ducks walked away with the new Sybarite Fashion Victim dolls. I am very jealous as these look FABULOUS. I so want that mohawk pink wig one.... IT Dolly Days East 59th La Femme Godiva Collection with New Characters!

  Well another gorgeous set of dolls from designer Christ Stoeckel. He and Mark Tinkey are definitely favs at the moment. The clothing here is lovely and highly detailed. We are getting two new characters which seem to be using some older sculpts.  I like them and I don't mind some stylization...but they do seem a touch out of step with the screening on Evelyn which seems more realistic.  I tried for Cora in the lottery and lost out.  I am hoping to jump on the wait list and maybe get lucky though. I am a big Mugler fan and this fashion on Cora is definitely a reference to a Mugler look as well as to Jerry Hall's locks (also a Mugler model). I missed out on preordering the rest of the ladies from the dealers.  I would really like to get Evelyn's outfit at some point.  I will be patient.
