New Jem doll Alert: Roxy Rumbles Set

Image
So, of the hundreds of Jem doll potential variations, nowhere on my lists are these two versions of Roxy. I know that Millionaire Roxy was ranked high on the Jem wishlist poll done by the W Club a couple years ago.  Personally, I am more interested in getting fashions that are in more than one episode.  And while Roxy has definitely had fewer releases than both Pizzazz and Stormer, I am not sure that I needed TWO.  All my kvetching aside, I do LOVE the Hasbro screening.  Totally in love with it. The outfits look really well done and I was lucky enough to win the right to buy.  But yeah, two dolls seems overkill.  Especially when we REALLY need another Synergy.  And I think another Zipper and non-hideous Eric would sell well.  I am also still dreaming of another Danse release with a different sculpt and without a shovel face and with more colorful hair (mine has that caved in face thing happening).  I want an ice skating version!   I...

New Misfits "I Like Your Style" Stormer and Jetta from Integrity Toys

Image
Woot.  More Jem goodness.  Here we get the last two Misfits.  These were pretty much the outfits we were expecting and I am not mad about it. I was bummed that they did not throw in the Jetta "Awards Night" fashion as a little extra bonus. (Fear not...I will just make my own). We did get the Rapture sculpt for Stormer...which looks great.  I love the OG Stormer/Blue Sculpt...but the Rapture sculpt is one of my very favorites and it works great on Stormer and, along with the side glance, gives her a lively look.  I was less pleased that Jetta seems to have little variation from the original offering.  I was hoping for a deeper skintone maybe to make that makeup pop (plus it would have been a nice nod to the recent comics where she has a deeper tone).  Or at least a highlight or streak in her hair maybe.  I made my own Jetta that does have streaks...so it is no big deal...but would have been cool to see something a little different.  Now ...

She Makes an Impression! New Kimber and Raya Jem Dolls by Integrity Toys!

Image
While I would have preferred to get Kimber in the Permanent Wave fashion...Rock in Roses is pretty fun. AND, as Alain pointed out in the video introduction for W Club members, they choose fashions that would be tricky for customizers to easily make. (This is especially true since I already have the fabric to make my own Permanent Wave!) And please...that scrunchie? Take me money already.  Raya looks fabulous. I love the glam look and the interpretation of this fashion from the cartoon to reality is really swell.  I am loving the drum stand setup too...it will really save space in the doll display.  I kind of want a second set...and entered for two with my two memberships.  But with the cutthroat doll market as of late...I am just hoping to get even one!  I think they could have upped the edition size of this by another 100 (even with the drag of Kimber...who is at a saturation point in many collections). With this pairing, we can assume that Stormer and J...

Reflecting on my year in plastic: State of the Doll Collection 2020

I am looking at my cabinet...what has come and gone over this year? Well, I recently re-did the layout of the two Ikea detolfs that I have. I am most definitely running out of room and sweating the impending Jem-a-lanche. I moved my custom Blythe to my office...also Katy Keene and the East 59th Squad to my office collection to make some more room for Jem. I picked up the Divine Intervention Victoire head this year for a good price.  I love a good hair streak and I had a matching East 59th body so it was a win win. Other than that, no new East 59th gals for me this year.  As for Jem, I brought the Flipside Up-n-Rockin Jem and box to my office to display but added the Jerrica to the cabinet at home. I did not keep any of the dolls from the Perfect Match set...just the fashions and the sweet stand. I have the misfits two doll set on pre-order.  I entered the lottery for Aja and Shana. Pizazz may or may not stay when she gets here.   The Industry shelf is getting su...

Integrity "Beat This" Aja and Shana Jem and the Holograms Two Doll Set!

Image
Day two of dolly days brought us more Jem goodness.  I gotta admit to being a little underwhelmed by the outfit selection.  I could have picked about six outfit I would have wanted more than these two options.  However, there are some fun moments in here and the dolls themselves look great.  I am perplexed as to why they changed the Aja sculpt.  I think this is the Fan sculpt...which I like, but I also liked the OG Aja sculpt with the smile. I am, however, LOVING the genie hair thing.  I used to rock one those back in the day. Shana's hair is very fun and I love how fluffy and big Aja's hair is. I like how they used the Hasbro face paint for Shana as well. The packaging looks swell too.  My biggest beef is that this is once again a lottery. I suspect that it won't be an issue getting one of these...but the fact that there is a chance of missing it feels less than generous from Integrity. But I get it...the lottery creates the illusion of scarcity...whi...

Integrity Toys "I Am A Giant" Misfits Two Doll Gift Set

Image
Well, these outfits would not have been my first choice...but I don't hate them. Roxy has magnificently pooftacular hair. I wish Pizazz had something different going on...like maybe a ponytail?  I might give her one. I am feeling the jewelry on this set though. And Roxy's glove hands are nifty.  This was a "right to win" lottery and I was fortunate to get said right. I assume that a Stormer and Jetta set will follow.  I also hope that the Jetta will come with a bonus dress to complete the Award's Nights dresses we already have for the Misfits. We shall see.  If we are indeed getting the rest of the Misfits and another round of Holograms...it is going to get expensive.  I already made some room on my shelves for the coming doll-valanche. The boxes are also cool...but I also don't display the boxes really and then I feel guilty about recycling them...gah.  I might try to figure out a way to display them in my office perhaps. I love the old school art. ...

Legendary IT 2020 Convention: W Club Lunch Gossip Recap

Image
They have been teasing us with a gorgeous Agnes face all weekend and many were expecting/hoping that she was going to appear at the lunch event.  She did not. I am wondering if she is going to end up being an extra special bonus or maybe a made to order dealie. We shall see.  ****UPDATE: This Agnes will be the 25th Anniversary doll and offered to the entire W Club for order.  It is unclear whether she is one of our pending W Club exclusives or a bonus. I am excited to get her. She looks STUNNING. Anyway, so we got a crazy goth queen in Wicked Narcissism Eugenia Frost-Perrin.  I have yet to warm up to a Eugenia but I am pretty sure this is the one.  I love it. I wish she wasn't $175 bucks...but I am happy to get her. (To be clear, most centerpieces in recent years have been this price. It still hurts). She is totally going to rock that Soiree Agnes dress and a lot of the style lab. This doll was a throwback to Dark Narcissus Kyori.  Then we had interviews wi...

Legendary Integrity Convention 2020 IT Direct Exclusives....soooo many

Image
Well this morning started with a bit of a whimper due to technical difficulties. This pushed everything  back an hour. But whatever.  Then they unloaded a crapload of IT direct exclusives on us.  I was SUPER bummed to see no Misaki.  WHYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!  Anyhow... here's the round up with my thoughts. First...swell packaging.  Can't wait to see this gorgeous Agnes.  I am guessing she might be tonight's souvenir? Who knows. Some are speculating that she is the W Club centerpiece with Giselle being the souvenir. I am skeptical since we got Giselle last year.  ***Update, this Agnes will be the 25th Anniversary doll offered made-to-order to all W Club members. Huzzah!
