Madame Alexander 2014 Collection- 16" Dolls

Image
It's been awhile since I have paid attention to Madame Alexander.  I am pretty limited in my 'little girl' doll collecting with the odd Tiny Betsy here and there so the bulk of her offerings are lost on me.  I used to have a few Alex dolls but no longer.  I do still have some Alex clothes and if they still made stand alone outfits, I would likely buy them. I did notice a few interesting offerings in the latest collection though. Madame Alexander Isaac Mizrahi Classic Iconic Collection "Isaac Mizrahi Iconic Alex" - Limited Edition of only 250 pieces. Estimated ship date: mid-June   Retails for $199/ Two Day Dreamers Price $159 The Furry hat is festive.  The rest...meh.  I like the puffer coat and it would be cute on Tullabelle.  I would be more interested in some skinny jeans, great boots, and a handbag. In the Wizard of Oz Collectio n, Madame Alexander is jumping on the 're-imagined' train with some 16" Steampunk offerings. ...

I swear...I am never buying a Tonner Convention Exclusive again....They always go on sale....meh.  But here ya go...sweet doll on Phin and the very cute Military Theory outfit.  Remember, these outfits fit Cami & Jon and Phin is the same size as Tonner Matt.  Plus free shipping on these until June 16th or they run out.  Tonner has the Steamy Dorothy & Scarecrow on sale plus the American Model Outfits.  I want that Dorothy outfit at some point... http://www.wildeimagination.com/c-11-end-of-edition-specials.aspx http://www.tonnerdoll.com/tonner-dolls-on-sale-now

New Steampunk Wonder Woman!

Tonner is killing me.  I love her...but SOOOO expensive.  Ugh. I should wait for her to be on sale, but with an edition of only 500 though, I am scared she might sell out like the American Model Wonder Woman.  I only just got Donna Troy in the nick of time.

For Sale: Steampunk Fun, T-shirts, Hats, & Dresses!

I've been making an effort to get my little dolly offerings online.  I am starting with Show & Sel l first.  From there I will move some stuff over to ebay and etsy.

Day 4: Tonner Convention Wrap up!

Still so tired.  Ugh. Dreamcastle Dolls has a fantastic roundup of all the convention dolls offered... So the Sunday morning had me getting up at an ungodly hour to check out of my hotel.  I misread the schedule and thought that the vendor room would be open at 7:30 but when I got there, it was only the Tonner sales room open in the morning.  grumble...which meant I had an hour to talk myself into buying more stuff.  So I got the last of the Theodora Bennett dolls in the salesroom to go with the awesome Phin I won in the raffle.  I also picked up Clockwork Hypothesis just because.  Also a 13" Black Canary.  I am uber sad that I missed the Andromeda doll.  I would have loved to steal her outfit for Wonder Woman.  I hope it comes to a virtual factory sale at some point or I can get the outfit loose. I also went ahead and got another 16" Wonder Woman.  I wanted another gal with the beefy arms and I might use her to do a modern Diana...

2012 Tonner Con Day 3: Wonder Woman, Birds, and Raffle!

My first event of the day was Amazonia.  I made a whole outfit for it...photos to come later.  The centerpiece was a killer 22" American Model.  I bought her.  She is fabulous.  The event doll was the same outfit on the 16" heroic body.  Both dolls came with two sets of hands.  I was also pleased to know that the Nu Mood hands do work on the Heroic body.  I think I will be getting another 16 Wonder Woman tomorrow to use for a Modern Wonder Woman.  This is a new sculpt as well called "Diana".  I do love the old one so very much...but this new one is nice too.  She looks a lot like Linda Carter actually.  I was slightly bummed that they did the same outfit on both dolls....but they are cool.  Now to get the other Wonder Woman American Model.  Must save pennies. Flights of Fancy Dinner....lots of over the top and colorful bird themed dolls on antoinette bodies.  Daphne/Toucan, Antoinette/Cardinal and Par...

Tonner Convention 2012 Day One & Two

Tired!  So tired! Anyway, we are halfway through the fun.  Thursday Night featured some pretty adorable flight attendants dolls, Shelly, Kay, and Captain Paul which featured the supergirl sculpt, a new sculpt (Kay), and what will be the new Matt sculpt.  I was tempted...but must save all pennies for Wonder Woman tomorrow.  The souvenir was a basic "Judy" doll using the Glinda sculpt on the new Starlet body (which I guess is tyler on top and hippier on the bottom...).  Our volunteer thank you gift was a supercool Nu Mood doll that I think is the Kit sculpt?  I was excited since I have not been able to nab one of these yet.  I was able to get the hands and feet from Gigi's Dolls in the vendor salesroom. The Tonner Salesroom had some good steals as always.  I tried to be good, but could not resist two Cami and Jon outfits that were absurdly cheap (Sag Harbor and Play on Words) as well as a City Sleek outfit for my Mom's Miss Revlon doll for...

Tonner 2012 Mainline Release....

Check it out. Precarious Line The sculpt reminds me a bit of the Chicago/Suzette face...also applies lashes which I have no problem with. Very fashion forward clothes with interesting shapes and lots of details.  Pricey though.  There is no story info for this yet... Intriguing -festive blue hair and kick ass blue suede heal-less shoes. Totally want those shoes. Party Girl - again awesome shoes and fantastic silver tights. Anything Goes - looks like a fabulous outfit for Cat Woman....I love it. Swing Time - very chic.  I love it. Simon Rouge is back on the 13" body which means more fun clothes for those girls coming out.  Also the Suzette sculpt on the 13" body...which looks good!  Maybe we will see Kitty Collier too? Deanna Denton went to weight watchers evidently and she is now on the 16" curvaceous body.  I might have to steal the Red Hot Deanna Outfit for for supergirls.... Cami & Jon have a new dolls and outfits.  Steamfunk C...

Imperium Park Debuts!

Oh my.   Use the code PARK to get free shipping until March 19th, 2012.  Thea is on an Ellowyne body and Phin is on a Matt body...so lots of clothes sharing potential!  This stuff is pricey...but super detailed with a ton of accessory business.  I totally love all of it and I definitely like the sculpts.  Clockwork Hypothesis is killer.  A lot of this would make for great Firefly fashion as well.  Phin could make a great Simon actually.

Amazing Steampunk Ellowyne Pattern at Dollreader

This pattern was designed by Durelle Brown...and it's stunning. I cannot wait to make it!

Steampunk Costumes Rule!

I have always been a huge fan of the steampunk aesthetic. I am tickled pink to be doing not one but TWO steampunky plays this season: RUR for Strawdog and Pillar of Fire for College of Dupage. Yee Haw! So while researching for Pillar today, I can across these awesome examples that I want to share with the class: Steampunk Justice League: The Guild of Justice-Minded Citizenry Superman & Powergirl looks fabulous! And Here's Batgirl ! I love them all. And I saw these guys at the Comic Con...the costumes were totally amazing! There were lots of steampunk cosplayers. So sketches and images of my version of steampunk to come soon...and if you are interested in learning more about steampunk, here's a forum .
