Jason Wu Netaporter Exclusive Fall 2019 Aymeline dolls. Like at your peril.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Integrity Toys (@integrity_toys) If you appreciate torture and not getting what you want, then check out the Netaporter exclusive dolls from Jason Wu. The process of trying to obtain these dolls was similar to a root canal without anesthesia. I was mildly tempted by them...but the price ($250) combined by the insanity of the convoluted and sneak attack method of the ordering process made me decide to watch the saga from afar.

IT 2021 Obsession Convention Final Gala Event Recap and Virtual Convention Musings

Image
The final gala event gave us a swell centerpiece Adele, an interview with Jason Wu, and another miniature Wu fashion on a doll...this time Elyse! Jason discussed his history, drag queens, food, cats, his design work during covid times, and a little look into future things. There was discussion of the Net-a-Porter dolls (groan) and the potential to do another Wu doll for the club instead. Hopefully that might happen as the recent Wu Aymeline(s) offered via Net-a-Porter was an unparalleled torturous disaster for the majority of people who wanted her (still ongoing mind you).   Item # 91529 Sovereign Adèle Makéda™ Dressed Doll The 2021 Integrity Toys Convention: Obsession Final Gala Event Centerpiece Edition Size: 1300 Special Convention Price: $180.00 Head Sculpt: Adele 2.0 Body Type: FR 6.0 Foot Sculpt: High-heeled Skin Tone: Sunkissed Hair Color: Golden Blonde Eyelashes: Yes, Hand-applied Quickswitch: No Designed by Jessy Ayala and in keeping with the vaguely defined military ...

W Club Final exclusive 2020-2021: NuFace A Fashionable Legacy Violaine Perrin

So this happened.  I have been pokey to blog about it because initially I was pretty salty about it. Well, I am still pretty salty about it. The name of this set refers back to the A Fashionable Life Vanessa gift set from 2005 sold by FAO Schwartz and limited to 300 pieces. It was a great gift set that I would kill to have. It featured red and black pieces, luggage, and a stunning Vanessa with raven hair, a retro hairstyle, and a widow's peak! Taking the original inspiration into consideration, this offering tries but fails to live up to the original in my opinion. First of all...what in the fresh hell is this "fashion" trying to do? Raw edges do not make a fashion edgy. In doll scale, it just makes things cheaper. This whole thing is a big ole mess...and a big ole miss.  Had it not had raw edges, I might have considered these pieces for Cruella Tatyana...as she can pull off a more costumey look. However, the raw edges and the extra large printed trompe l'oiel stit...

Jason Wu Collection: The Originals. Integrity Toys Dolly Days 2020

Image
These are very pretty but not really my style.  I also think it is super annoying that they made this a lottery in which you could end up getting one and not the other...as I think many would want to have both on display together.  We also just got the Vero and Adele in black and white for convention. (I mean, I didn't get those upgrade dolls myself...but lots of folks did). And while it might be kind of fun to have them in cocktail dresses in black and white next to these versions in evening gowns...it is also a bit boring too. I love the capes though. I do enjoy mask and cape drama so I am slightly tempted by the Vero this time.  I also considered entering in this as possible trade bait to get my mitts on that Soiree Agnes that I stupidly sold. Hmmmm. They are giving us until January to enter.  Item #12313 The Originals Véronique Perrin®  Dressed Doll The Jason Wu 20th Anniversary Collection Edition Size: 450 Expected Ship Date: Spring 2021 Price: $175....

Jason Wu Collection Beauty Doll with Net-A-Porter

Image
Well with hilariously bad timing, Net-a-Porter dropped the Jason Wu doll we saw last night TODAY.  At a whooping $295-$315 depending on your taxes and location, she comes with some shoes and shopping bags.  She seems to be sold out on some of the sites but Net-a-Porter is hella confusing and has locations all over the place.  Each location seems to have an allocation...so there might still be a chance.  Sometimes they will show as sold out and then magically reappear.  I believe you can get a discount code for 10% if you sign up for email (i think for new customers). Anyway.  She's pretty for sure but well out of my range.  I have one complete Wu doll (Montaigne Market) and Intimate Reveal nude.  I just added the Anniversary Kiss Poppy along with the new Aymeline.  I would still love to get the stripey sweater and pants Elyse at some point...but I am not paying these crazy talk prices (especially for gowns). It is nice that it seems a portion...

Legendary IT 2020 Convention Saturday Recap: W Club and Jason Wu Gala

Image
Woo boy. I am still trying to process both this day, this convention, and the world right now.  I have burst into tears like five times today (out of joy and relief and weariness).  I likely say this every year, but Integrity Toys is a great company.  They go out of their way to take the collectors into consideration. They get it wrong sometimes, but more often than not...they get it right.  Happy 25th Anniversary Integrity Toys! So the Jason Wu Gala started with the centerpiece reveal designed by Jessy Ayala. Haute Desire Dania Zarr was inspired by Most Desired Eugenia. This gal is wearing a nice intricately draped gown in an electric purple color. She looks pretty in the Hungarian tone (one of my favs) with the brunette hair. Nice piece but again...no gowns for me. I passed mine onto to a fellow collector on the board in order to earn dolly karma (it's real y'all).  Then Carol Roth interviewed Jason Wu. He spoke of his origins with the company and also spoke a...

Bergdorf Poppy Thunderdome Sequel: Jason Wu Anniversary Kiss Poppy Parker

Image
***Update!  I won the blonde.  I am shook. I am waiting to pay for her along with the convention bounty coming this weekend.  I fear I will be too afraid to take her out of the box for a bit.  Welcome to the Thunderdome. 2000+ Poppy collectors enter...with a potential for only 800 to leave with a doll.  However, we know it will be much less since, with any lottery doll, W Club members might have multiple memberships or trade for additional chances. Here we have two dolls limited to 400 of each.  Brutal.  It would have been a brutal lottery even at 1000 pieces. Of course, there are bound to be many mercenaries entering only to flip the dolls for a profit (and then have Integrity drop-ship them directly to the buyer). Once someone wins a right-to-buy lottery, of course they can do whatever they want (within the w club rules).  However, I find it distasteful myself and inviting bad karma. I am a judgey bitch evidently...so much so that I use th...

Iselin Fall 2018, New Jason Wu Collection Doll

Image
W Club members were treated to a special lottery "right to buy" opportunity for the latest doll in the Jason Wu Collection: Fall 2018.  These dolls feature doll-sized versions of Jason Wu's real life couture. While previous offerings from this line featured the Velvet Touch body, this one does not. It also features a new sculpt: Iselin.  The collector response has been mixed. I am not sure about her.  She definitely has a lot in common with Jason's usual muse, Elyse Jolie (whom I like).  But something here is not currently doing it for me.  It might be the screening, but her eyes are giving me Melania vibes and I just can't. I also don't do gowns...so this was an easy pass.  At $199, she is much less than recent Wu Collection offerings (possibly because of the lack of velvet touch body?)
