DC Bombshells Sewing Patterns!

Image
Just got back from a quick run to ye olde Jo of Ann...and found three new costume patterns for Bombshell Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Batgirl!  They are adorable...and patterns were on sale for $1.99...so they jumped into my basket.  I might actually make Wonder Woman's blouse as I would totally wear that. They also had a pattern for old school Joker and from the Marvel side of the nerd-verse...a cool Deadpool costume pattern!

Tonner Finally Tempts Me- DC Gotham Garage

Image
It has been a LONG time since I have wanted to get a new Tonner doll. The last one I picked up was a Sydney Nu Mood via eBay to use as a body transplant for my Diana Prince-Princess of Paradise Island  so that she could have flat feet to wear the festive Greek numbers I have made or collected. (BTW...this doll is GORGEOUS.  Great hair and makeup AND the outfit is stunning. Great accessories too... wait what's that?  Did you say accessories?  Yes!  Remember when the dolls came with extra things that weren't lame?  It's true...it totally used to happen. But I digress...).  Poor old Sydney is now re-bodied and on Mister DollFace . Tonner just launched two new dolls, Catwoman and Harley Quinn , in a line called Gotham Garage . They are painfully priced at $190 and limited to 300.  I love them...but hoping they hang around long enough to get put on sale because Integrity has ALL MY MONEY at the moment what with convention and all the aweso...

Madame Alexander DC Dolls- Wonder Woman, Harley, and Poison Ivy

Image
These were completely off my radar.  Somehow I am still on a Madame Alexander mailing list even though I have not bought an Alex doll in over a decade. These are new 16" dolls using the Alex articulated body. Wonder Woman's outfit is reminiscent of Linda Carter's oddly cut star spangled panties and gold chicken bodice.  If she ever goes on mega sale, I might be tempted.   Harley Quinn comes with a swell mallet but there is no photo of her without her mask or hood, so we have NO IDEA what lurks beneath that mask. The facial screening with the open smile is a little weird and her body suit needs to be way tighter. I think Ivy is the most successful.  I would love to see the leafy bathing suit thing in person and the leaf boots also look fun.  The tights are something we have not seen in previous doll versions.  Her screening looks nice and overall she captures the feeling and look of the character. At $199 each, these are fairly in line with Tonner...

New York Comic Con~Lady Action~Wonder Woman 52 and Supergirl Costumes for $99

Image
I believe this is the Captain Action booth #341...According to a another website, they are seeling the Wonder Woman 52 outfit for $99 or the outfit/Lady Action set for $199...which is a swell deal if that means the outfit plus the doll.  I have yet to find confirmation that this Wonder Woman 52 outfit will come with a wig or not.  So it is a mystery. The Supergirl outfit looks so much like the original DC Stars Supergirl...I am not sure I even care to get it.  The wig looks nice, but I have never been a big wig doll fan.  I can't tell from the photos if the boots have a heel on them. The biggest difference in the outfits is in the gold belt and gold edging on the boots.  part of me wants to be a Supergirl completist and just get it.... Info on the outfit: Look up in the sky- it’s our Lady Action Tonner Supergirl outfit! Get ready for the just-announced CBS Supergirl series with this lovely Supergirl outfit especially desi...

MIA Collectibles...Documenting your Collection

I think every serious collector has done it at some point...misplace something from your collection. Often it is one of your favorite things too that you are sure that you put "some place special"!  Clearly it was so special that you you have out-foxed your future self.  It can really make you doubt your sanity the longer it takes you to find it..assuming that you do find it. You start to wonder if it even existed at all? Did you sell it? Was it stolen? Did the movers leave it behind? Etc...nightmare...etc... I moved to my current apartment in August of 2013. It took a month to get around to unpacking the dolls as I added some new shelves for my ever expanding Integrity Toy collection. I would slowly do a couple of boxes when I could and had to be clever about stashing the boxes in a closet, under beds, and in the storage room in our new basement. So for awhile, I assumed I just had not come across the boxes that had my DC Stars custom Joker and Lex Luther. I also noticed th...

Tonner One Day Sale June 13th 11a Central

From Tonner's facebook page-ONE DAY SALE next week!! Mark your calendars and synchronize your watches for Wednesday, June 13th at Noon EDT! There will be crazy discounts on already marked down items, but for 24 hours only, so don't miss it! Ends Thursday June 14th at Noon EDT. According to follow up comments...all in-stock items will be on sale but convention product won't be included.  Hopefully I can nab an Andromeda for a good price.  I could possibly be tempted by Star Sapphire if she is on sale as well though I have never been a big lantern fan.  I do like that sculpt and the hair though and she would make a nice 16" Huntress if i made her an outfit.  I would like to get Dove at some point as well to make a Birds of Prey group...I suppose I will have to make my own Lady Blackhawk/aka Zinda Blake as well...perhaps a Lady Shiva too.

Haunted By Hot Toys Hawkeye...Who wants to buy me this?

Image
It has been a long while since I have actively considered buying something in a new scale, format, etc.  I have been stalking this action figure on Sideshow Toys for two weeks now.  I have added it to my basket and nearly completed checkout at least five times.  It is haunting me.  I so want to get it but still can't seem to pull the trigger. But it looks sooo good.  And I love that character and that actor.  But it would also look soooo out of place in my collection.  And then I would need to get Black Widow as well when she comes out...and then you see, we have a downward spiral. But look how awesome he is....

Happy Birthday Wonder Woman!

Image
Goddess love you Wonder Woman.  Superherostuff.com is offering 10% off your order with the code WWBDAY10 until March 28th, 2012.  I am thinking about getting some shorts, a pint glass set, and those festive argyle socks.   And this awesome t-shirt.

Save Evil Squirrel Comics in Rogers Park!

This is my new comic store .  I heart it! Why?  Friendly dudes.  A nice subscription service .  Knitting Night . Kid's Movie Club ,  A mutual love for horror....did I mention a Knitting Night ?  Well you should check it out.  Its right around the corner from the Mayne Stage (where we rocked it at Deathscribe a few days ago) a hop skip and jump from the Morse Redline stop and close to our good good buddies at the Lifeline Theatre .  Evil Squirrel Comics is in a bit of financial woesomeness and I really don't want another awesome comic book store to close yall.  They are amazing community centers to meet people and share ideas, as well as being the place that I buy my floppy cartoon fix.  We need local businesses like Evil Squirrel .  So stick it to the Barnes and Noble Man...buy your comics, games, t-shirts, and toys from a friendly awesome local business like Evil Squirrel!  Also... TODAY there is a Groupon Now !...

Be Still My Heart...Tonner's new Donna Troy!!!! ...and that Bitchy Emma Frost...

Image
I could care less about the X-Men Phoenix and Emma Frost girls frankly. Though if they ever make a Dazzler ...I will get her in a heartbeat... But DONNA TROY ...woot!  I had made my own Donna in her black suit and now I can just use that suit on this gal.  She will have the new boobs and the bigger biceps.  I am psyched. Also new today...more Gone With the Wind , Miss Revlon Vintage , and some pretty cute new Alice and Mad Hatter dolls in a more anime style on Tiny Betsy bodies.

Tonner's Zatanna on sale for $87.50 from AFXpress!

Finally...I can get her ....I opted for the priority mail....which was a buck less than UPS.  Plus ups has recently pissed me off so they are dead to me at the moment.  So she was just under $100 with shipping!  And I do so love the Lana sculpt and ZATANNA! ELAS LLOD

Steve Rogers, Super Solider Tonner Character Figure is up for sale!

Image
I doubt he will be there long .  This is a variant outfit and word is that he will be released in his more current outfit late on.  I saw him in person and the sculpt is really great.  He comes with a wig in the box but I don't think he comes with extra hands...which is a huge bummer.  Ltd to 150.

Tonner Convention Scoops:DC Stars, Marvel, Harry Potter, Twilight, Vampire Diaries, Pirates, etc...

So here is what I remember... Tim Burton: Robert has rights to do some of the Tim Burton movies "Re-imagined": Beetlejuice, Charley and the Chocolate Factory, and Corpse Bride. DC: New sculpted resin Wonder Woman and Superman coming.  The superman sculpt is what Robert is working on in that video released on the blog. Avatar: These are still coming and will be resin. Marvel: Robert made reference to a new muscular arm sculpt.  Scarlet Witch did not have this new arm.  She did have the new bigger bustline.  They also showed prototypes for Miss Marvel, Phoenix (in the green suit) and Emma Frost.  They are sticking to the women at the moment. Harry Potter: Next up is Viktor Krumb in the normal size scale. Cami & Jon: No word on Andy's special friend. Tonner Toys: Playline dolls to be sold in Toysrus.  First up is Little Mismatched.  Three dolls: Uptown, Sporty, and the Artist...maybe there was a fourth?  They will retail aro...

More Tonner Convention Speculation...Possible Marvel Souvenir Dolls

Image
So the "fiery haired temptress" clue gives us a few options.  The most obvious is Black Widow, a fellow Avengers teammate of the Captain. ****But newsflash...Miss Nancy of Tonner has confirmed that it is NOT Black Widow! Other options include: Jean Grey , Scarlet Witch , Mary Jane Watson , Siryn , Rachel Summers , Mystique , Rogue , Madelaine Pryor , and Firestar .  My second favorite choice would be Lady Medusa of the Inhumans with her 'prehensile hair'...you gotta love that.  Both would be fantastic options...I am partial to Lady Medusa myself as she would be a killer doll with all that hair! A blue Mystique would also be swell. ***Update: We've been informed that the souvenir doll will be on the 16" Tyler body and not on the 17" Athletic body.  Good news to me.

Tonner Pure Imagination Convention Breakout Events and Seminars

They are up..most of the seminars are already sold out.  I am a little 'meh' on the Captain America event.  That actor Chris Evans is uber hot though...but I am just not a Marvel fan.  Sounds like the souvenier could be Black Widow with a Scarlett Johannsen likeness? I will go but it's highly unlikely I will be keeping these dolls. Although it sounds like the Captain doll with be a variant and we all won't get suckered into paying full price for a regular line doll (that will later go on sale like Superman).  I will skip the little girl event.  They are always really fun but...$$$$....don't got none.    Ellowyne events are always fun, though I rarely keep the whole doll.  I kept last year's outfits though and sold the dolls due to the glass eyes.  Not a fan of them. I will go to this though if only to get outfits and have fun.  As for the included events:  SUPER EXCITED about Pin up!  I hope the doll is a retro style girl with...
