IT Dolly Days East 59th La Femme Godiva Collection with New Characters!

Image
Well another gorgeous set of dolls from designer Christ Stoeckel. He and Mark Tinkey are definitely favs at the moment. The clothing here is lovely and highly detailed. We are getting two new characters which seem to be using some older sculpts.  I like them and I don't mind some stylization...but they do seem a touch out of step with the screening on Evelyn which seems more realistic.  I tried for Cora in the lottery and lost out.  I am hoping to jump on the wait list and maybe get lucky though. I am a big Mugler fan and this fashion on Cora is definitely a reference to a Mugler look as well as to Jerry Hall's locks (also a Mugler model). I missed out on preordering the rest of the ladies from the dealers.  I would really like to get Evelyn's outfit at some point.  I will be patient. IT 2021 Obsession Convention W Club Event Designer Chat

Carol's "eating workshop" began with the usual sharing of the rules and a new request for people to not yuck each other's yum. I appreciated that as, in general, I turn off the comments for any presentation so I don't have to see that nonsense and tend to block W Club users that just trash what other like.  It is fine to disagree and voice that opinion...but some people just have no class. Here is a run down of the information shared: The design talk commenced then with Vaughn Sawyers, Jessy Ayala, David Buttry, Chris Stoeckel, Alain Trembley, and Carol Roth. They all shared their IT "origin stories". Mark  is going back to Misaki. Excited to see it. Vaughn's obligatory 'pipeline supply chain issue' explanations.  David -Future of Poppy Parker...she will time travel back and forth...modern twist on vintage. Jessy- Working on new characters (in response to a question about more Asian representation) Chris - Victoire's husband...not in th...

IT 2021 Obsession Convention Collection

Image
While the Convention Welcome Doll knocked me out, the convention collection was a bit of a mixed bag.  THE WINNER FOR ME. The Victoire is KILLER. I adore Mugler and this is a must have for me. The East 59th dolls are always gorgeous and have amazing details, construction, and design inspiration. Chris Stoeckel killed it and really brought something new here. I am going to cry if I don't get one in the lottery. Also...the photos are great for this doll. I am in love. I am thinking the pink jacket is going to pair nicely with the pieces from the Victoire heist outfit...that had all the black pieces...from Gloss convention maybe? New East 59th collection...But Make it 40s!

Another lovely collection from Chris Stoeckel. I always appreciate both the playability and the value of the East 59th line designed by Chris.  Frequently combining mix and match outfits or alternate looks for each doll, the price points for these are similar to FR and NuFace with way more bang for the buck AND often feature far more complicated fashions (cough* mini-dresses *barf). This time Chris has gone back a bit to the end of WWII to give us a bit more origin story for the characters.  I like it. My only complaint here is in the edition sizes. I have tried and failed to get a preorder on these.  I am hoping to get one today at sideshow.  Otherwise I will hope for a club offering or try to get one in trade later on.  I would like all three...but I also don't want one without the others (exception being Gus...I would take him by himself).  I am hoping for a Gus and Laird giftset at some point (maybe Dolly Days?). Chris keeps saying that menswear ...
