Open Editions from Integrity: East 59th Victoire and Meteor Keeki

Image
This is old news at this point...but better late than never. Integrity has announced plans for open edition dolls: meaning, when they sell out, they will get restocked. The started with East 59th and Meteor.  While the idea is admirable in how it takes some of the bloodsport out of acquiring dolls, I don't love the $99 price point.  I assume the whole concept is to make it easier for new collectors to get their hands on the dolls without having to offer your first born to your doll dealer.  I (and others) speculate that this is a clever attempt to draw in the Barbie Silkie crowd who have been left high and dry and eager for a fix. Hence Integrity starting with East 59th as a logical draw. "But Aly, wouldn't Poppy have been a BIGGER draw?" you ask.  Well yes...but it also would have led to a red wedding bloodbath.  I think the choice of East 59th followed by Meteor enabled IT to do a soft rollout of the concept and make sure they didn't kill the website.  ...

2018 Luxe Life Round Up

Oye. I've been home for five days and I am just beginning to recover. The combination of the time change, my already being sick, and sleep deprivation was BRUTAL. But it was a great time and the dolls were GORGEOUS. The Style Lab dolls not actually being there was a bit of a bummer. I pre-ordered them and now will get pre-shipping for my trouble. Can't complain about that really. The dolls and fashions look AMAZEBALLS though. I am always a fan of the style lab and these were absolutely perfect.  I will likely keep all the lady fashions.  I am not sure about the male fashions yet as I feel I already have similar styles (though the red coat is kind of cool). I doubt I am keeping the men and will probably only keep Rufus, Ellery, Hollis, and Lark. I have not decided on Gavin yet. I was pleased to see the Jem/CI sculpts make a comeback (in a smaller scale to match the Industry body). The Build a Doll Poppy looks STUNNING. If I am seeing it correctly, she has a silver and black ...

New East 59th Street Collection by Integrity Toys!

Vintage glamour returns. Many of us were missing Victoire, myself included...and I am losing any hope that Katy Keene will come back. This new vintage line designed by Chris Stoeckel is very welcome. The four doll collection has a wonderful backstory around the fashion and marketing world in the Mad Men era 1950s New York. The initial descriptions tell us that Victoire Roux will be joining this line later on. Victoire's story was in the forties so I am assuming we will get a slightly more mature Victoire.  I imagine they will need to do a new sculpt for her to make her work with these wonderful new faces for these ladies. Victoire currently is more stylized...but perhaps with a less stylized facial screening the current mold could work? We shall see. It is all very exciting. It also sounds like there will be a vintage homme coming eventually as well. Yummy. This era makes diversity a challenge but I really hope they add a character of color in this line too...maybe a Broadway ac...

Integrity ITBE Grab Box Frenzy-My Results...#ihavenowillpower

Integrity offered some grab boxes during the month of December for club members.  The Mystery boxes featured one of eight new ITBE dolls (Jasper, Jordan/Tatyana, Ayumi, Darla, Josephine/Gaga, Finley Brunette, Finley Blonde, & Mongram) and extras.  Initially you could only order one, then it opened up.  It seems like the best option, if you had the available cash or credit to do it, was to order eight at once.  If you did that, you did not get any repeats and were thus guaranteed to get all of the sculpts.  I had one box to my Poppy Airways order and then another when I paid for Jem's Craig Phillips.  The first two orders yielded a Brunette Finley (gorgeous!) and DG Design a Doll extras (which I already had).  The second order had Darla (very cute but I don't think I am keeping her) and the DG winter fashion that everyone seems to have gotten in their orders.  Also the adorable sandals from DG Tooka.  I like the little winter fashion th...

IT Gloss Convention Dolls & Photos...AKA Why I am so Broke...

I spent the weekend de-boxing and prepping things for sales.  This time last year I was doing the same thing though I seem to be keeping WAY more this time around (which means some of last year's spoils need to vacate).  Nocturnal Glow Véronique Perrin® Dressed Doll The 2014 Integrity Toys Convention: Gloss Limited Edition of 500 Dolls I am still tempted to keep this one.  I really like this dress but I just don't do evening wear.  I so prefer day and cocktail looks that can be mixed and matched.  The ballgowns and evening dresses do nothing for me. Same goes for Grandiose Natalia.  I like the doll and the makeup but the fun red in her eye makeup also makes her pretty specific to this dress.  I think I will just bide my time for the perfect Natalia for me.  That being said, both of these dolls are stunning and I love the 1970s Halston vibe on Natalia.
