Imperium Park Debuts!

Image
Oh my.   Use the code PARK to get free shipping until March 19th, 2012.  Thea is on an Ellowyne body and Phin is on a Matt body...so lots of clothes sharing potential!  This stuff is pricey...but super detailed with a ton of accessory business.  I totally love all of it and I definitely like the sculpts.  Clockwork Hypothesis is killer.  A lot of this would make for great Firefly fashion as well.  Phin could make a great Simon actually.

He looks shiny !

Firefly Serenity Zoe Tonner Character Figure is Up!

I think she looks wonderful!

SDCC 2010 Tonner booth Coverage...see the new Firefly Jayne!

He looks pretty cunning...

New Tonner Dolls! Jonah Hex, Galadriel, Twilight and more...

Oh my...new Cami and Jon as well.  Alice from Twilight is pretty darn cute.  But the showstopper is GALADRIEL!  Man that sculpt is perfect!  Here'e hoping Legolas looks half as good. I like the Jonah Hex dolls...I might actually have to break down and get Lilah and pretend it is not the likeness of that bitch face who shall not be named....

2010 Tonner Extras On Sale Now! Firefly Inara is one of them!

Shinon Inara is on sale for $185...I am so very very tempted to get another Inara but I suppose I should share with the rest of the class. There is a promo code out there somewhere...i just cannot remember what it is...

Tonner Browncoat Breakfast Coverage...I love my new plastic Mal!

(I am the second "Jayne" from the left FYI in the Jayne contest...the Jayne with Vera won the prize). The Tonner Convention Browncoat Breakfast was so fun and was a wonderful introduction to the Firefly/Serenity world for many attendees. As both a Whedon fan and a doll collector, it was wonderful to have my two worlds collide. The Tonner staff gave a nice overview of the Verse for the uninitiated (though "Josh" Whedon was often said...shudder). We had some trivia and the table that won each received an Artist Proof Inara (jealous). The centerpiece at the event was a super sweet Captain's chair reproduction. It's shiny... I got one. They won't be making these anymore so if you come across one for a good price, buy it. They will be extremely rare. One of the guests was sporting Kaylee's actual costume from the film...(again jealous!) Last time I checked...they had about 14 of Inara left over...but she may be sold out now. ...

Two by Two Firefly Blue Gloves In Progress

Image
Slowly but surely...I am nearly there with one of the opera gloves. Weee....

High Falutin' Luxury Jayne Hat...

So while looking for yarn for my hands of blue gloves...I thought maybe I would do another Jayne hat as well. The one I already made is fine...but a little tight for my taste and a touch scratchy. Oh and did I mention that when i wear it I feel like my head is on fire! So I threw some Andean Silk in the jayne-y colors in my basket for a silky luxury Jayne hat that will be cooler and softer! Perhaps this is what Ma Cobb would have knit for high falutin' companion like Inara. I am thinking of using this pattern since my yarn is worsted weight...but I might just make up my own. We shall see.

Hands of Blue Firefly Gloves...

Image
Okay I seem to have mastered the sock. I made two pairs now (pics to follow) so now I think gloves are in order. I was thinking of the fabulous Firefly villians with the blue gloves and thought, "You like blue...why not make hands of blue gloves?" So here is the pattern i plan to use...mostly becuase its free and i have dpn sz 3 needles already. I ordered some Blue Palette Wool yarn from Knitpicks...it seems to be the closest blue to the rubber gloves on the show. I am super excited about this project....we shall see how it unfolds.

Swell Semi- Jayne Cobb Firefly Hat Pattern!

I have already made a cunning Jayne hat with a different pattern that produced an uncomfortably tight hat...I found this pattern at Lion and thought it would be good. Though the original hat did not have the big ribs...so it would not be super accurate.
