Another lovely collection from Chris Stoeckel. I always appreciate both the playability and the value of the East 59th line designed by Chris. Frequently combining mix and match outfits or alternate looks for each doll, the price points for these are similar to FR and NuFace with way more bang for the buck AND often feature far more complicated fashions (cough* mini-dresses *barf). This time Chris has gone back a bit to the end of WWII to give us a bit more origin story for the characters. I like it.
My only complaint here is in the edition sizes. I have tried and failed to get a preorder on these. I am hoping to get one today at sideshow. Otherwise I will hope for a club offering or try to get one in trade later on. I would like all three...but I also don't want one without the others (exception being Gus...I would take him by himself). I am hoping for a Gus and Laird giftset at some point (maybe Dolly Days?). Chris keeps saying that menswear is not his thing but both Gus and Laird were amaze balls. Frankly, I think everyone would be more than happy with an ALL male lineup at some point where we get Gus, Laird, and the spouses of Victoire and Lady Aurelia. That would be swell.
I like the face on Aurelia and the strong brows. I adore Victoire's suit and hat. Augustus is fantastic all around. OMG that sweater vest. I am a sucker for doll size knitwear. Love all the details. Love the return of the Darius sculpt. HATE the edition sizes. Integrity is making some WEIRD decisions lately. They could have easily sold out an edition of 1000 for this guy. I just don't get it.
UPDATE...So I had no luck getting it from the first dealer I tried...and also missed out on Sideshow but then scored Gus and Victoire off a wait list at another dealer (from cancellations I am guessing). Huzzah! So I might try to pick up Aurelia later...maybe as a nude perhaps.

They had better keep this in mind when Chris does another Laird. He is going to go so fast...
