Day two of dolly days brought us more Jem goodness. I gotta admit to being a little underwhelmed by the outfit selection. I could have picked about six outfit I would have wanted more than these two options. However, there are some fun moments in here and the dolls themselves look great. I am perplexed as to why they changed the Aja sculpt. I think this is the Fan sculpt...which I like, but I also liked the OG Aja sculpt with the smile. I am, however, LOVING the genie hair thing. I used to rock one those back in the day. Shana's hair is very fun and I love how fluffy and big Aja's hair is. I like how they used the Hasbro face paint for Shana as well. The packaging looks swell too.
My biggest beef is that this is once again a lottery. I suspect that it won't be an issue getting one of these...but the fact that there is a chance of missing it feels less than generous from Integrity. But I get it...the lottery creates the illusion of scarcity...which means they are unlikely to have these sitting on the shelf for ever.
Now to wonder what comes next? Will it be a Raja and Jetta "battle of the bands" set? That is where my money is. Another hint that this might be the case comes from the name of this current set: "Beat This" refers to a song from the Talent Search episode. I am thinking they might even do a three doll set with another Craig Phillips doll (or a head with a completer body purchase option). Whatever comes in the set...I do hope we get Jetta in the Camouflage fashion and Raya in the Garden Party look. I also hope they give us Jetta's Music Awards dress so we have a complete set for the girls.
Then possibly a Stormer and Kimber set? We have had a lot of Kimbers...but there are still people that don't have her. I would love to get her in the little pig tails. That would be cute. But I would also like the permanent wave outfit. I have the fabric to make my own but haven't done it yet...
The new instruments look super cool! I love the clear blue one for Aja and Shana's sweet bass!
