Legendary IT 2020 Convention: W Club Lunch Gossip Recap

They have been teasing us with a gorgeous Agnes face all weekend and many were expecting/hoping that she was going to appear at the lunch event.  She did not. I am wondering if she is going to end up being an extra special bonus or maybe a made to order dealie. We shall see.  ****UPDATE: This Agnes will be the 25th Anniversary doll and offered to the entire W Club for order.  It is unclear whether she is one of our pending W Club exclusives or a bonus. I am excited to get her. She looks STUNNING.

Anyway, so we got a crazy goth queen in Wicked Narcissism Eugenia Frost-Perrin.  I have yet to warm up to a Eugenia but I am pretty sure this is the one.  I love it. I wish she wasn't $175 bucks...but I am happy to get her. (To be clear, most centerpieces in recent years have been this price. It still hurts). She is totally going to rock that Soiree Agnes dress and a lot of the style lab. This doll was a throwback to Dark Narcissus Kyori. 


Then we had interviews with the designers.  Here is the hot goss...

  • David Buttry- wants to broaden and expand the Poppy line and be not so restrictive.  I read this to mean that she might move out of her sixties to seventies time periods.  (Can you just imagine Poppy in the 80s.  I'd die.)
  • Jessy Ayala- Isabella is an Afro-Latina character. There is still a Latina character coming for NuFace later this year.
  • Mark Tinkey- has a line coming. It is not FR Nippon. He said that he was "revisiting a popular brand that let people's fantasies come to life." I am guessing that means Nu Fantasy?  That would be cool.  Maybe we will get more Dracula Brides?
  • Chris Stoeckel- adding two new characters to East 59th...and teased the word "relative".  I took that to mean a character related to someone already in the line. It might be fun to have either a younger or older character show up.
  • Vaughn Sawyers- expect some twists and turns for Monarchs and he has many areas he wants to explore with men's fashion. He is keeping his lips sealed on Meteor. For Jem, they really looked to the forum polls. The working relationship with Hasbro has been good and they love everything that IT does with the line.
  • Alain Tremblay- totally game to do more dioramas: "I love a good cardboard structure." Also game for more funky things along the line of Anika's robot parts and such. 
  • They are wondering how we liked the online convention? They are exploring the technology available.

W Club Exclusive Doll "Mademoiselle Eden" from Nu Face...

Well, surprise it's another twin. People on W Club seemed mostly jazzed.  I was like....hmmm. Not sure. It feels like a whole lot of lazy rehash.  That dress seems like a variation on a dress from Luxe Life Eugenia and the jacket is the same one we got on Karolin at Live from Fashion Week (which (I sold off) The hair color is almost identical to the recent Violaine doll (whom I ADORE).  But I do love the mint dress (it has pocketssss!) and shoes quite a bit.  I am not loving the hairstyle at all and would definitely be removing the Snooki pouf hair . I love fantasy hair...but wish it weren't so similar to Violaine.  I've been wanting a minty haired doll...and maybe this one would be a perfect re-root candidate.  So I am still a little undecided.  Someone also pointed out that her stock number (82120A) could possibly indicate a corresponding Lilith version (82120B?) is coming our way (possibly for Dolly days?). Which sort of panic scares me into ordering her...hmmm.

Paris Doll Convention News

The Paris Doll Convention was this past weekend. Pictures can be seen here courtesy of the fantabulous Gerda! There was a gorgeous Raven hair Ellowyne with cute bangs and a ponytail and smokey eye makeup called Paris Blue limited to 250. The Sybarite event doll for the Saturday evening banquet was a bright red wigged doll with hot pink eye makeup and a gold and pink evening gown called Epocholypse. There was also a Raven version in a black and silver gown limited to 20 available via a special drawing. Both have lovely face paint and the wigs are in a cute haute heidi braid look. The dresses are nice..but i am not a big fan of Superdoll's gowns. I love their unique sportswear looks more. I am the same with Tonner gowns as well. Some lucky ducks walked away with the new Sybarite Fashion Victim dolls. I am very jealous as these look FABULOUS. I so want that mohawk pink wig one.... IT Dolly Days East 59th La Femme Godiva Collection with New Characters!

  Well another gorgeous set of dolls from designer Christ Stoeckel. He and Mark Tinkey are definitely favs at the moment. The clothing here is lovely and highly detailed. We are getting two new characters which seem to be using some older sculpts.  I like them and I don't mind some stylization...but they do seem a touch out of step with the screening on Evelyn which seems more realistic.  I tried for Cora in the lottery and lost out.  I am hoping to jump on the wait list and maybe get lucky though. I am a big Mugler fan and this fashion on Cora is definitely a reference to a Mugler look as well as to Jerry Hall's locks (also a Mugler model). I missed out on preordering the rest of the ladies from the dealers.  I would really like to get Evelyn's outfit at some point.  I will be patient.
