New Industry Dolls from IT
I'm running a but behind on ye olde blog due to ye olde life. So here is some old news...
Dave Buttry's Industry line has debuted. I was pretty excited about the line after the super adorbs giftset we got at the 2016 Supermodel Convention. The initial promises of a variety of ages also had me interested. The reality was a little lacking for me, mostly because of the blah color palette. Yes, I know black is always fashionable, but I prefer a bit more color...or at least some pops of color mixed with the funereal blackathon. I guess when I heard a variety of age ranges...I, like most, thought Grace Coddington or Anna Wintour...not a doll in her thirties (gasp....SO OLD). Le sigh. Hopefully a silver dragon lady is coming later. For now you can always use the older Coven ladies for your bitchy fashion editor character. I still live in hope that Integrity will add a full figure sculpt to its lineups soon. And again...where are the AA characters? The makeup artist...totally could have been AA instead of another pasty platinum guy that looks just like three other dolls we got recently.

They killed the accessories in this line. I love this new chunky jewelry and the clutch wallet purse is so cute. And the coffee mug!!! Squeee. This hair is fun too and a nice color. However, I already have the You Better Werk Tulabelle...so in the vain hope of keeping my collection a manageable size, I really try not to repeat sculpts/characters. Currently the blonde Tula is winning for me. I might try to get this outfit later as I think the individual pieces are really cute...I just wish there was more color. Like those tights could have been blue...or the boots.
There was MUCH whining about this sculpt and faceup being too "playline" (referring to Miss Babs). I will wait to reserve judgment in person. I think she's sweet but I would have liked a bit more attitude. But usually these dolls look way better in person. I also welcome some more sweetness in some of the sculpts because a bunch of Agnes "I'll Cut You" Von Weiss would get boring (and dangerous...cuz she will cut you).
I like the blue here in the coat and socks. Someone suggested that the dress would have been cool in white. I agree. Fun ipad and glasses...but not enough to tempt me at the moment.
Ordered! I love the coat and bag. He has a nice sculpt too. I like how the worked in backstory from the Poppy Parker line to make a connection between past and present for these characters.
So I thought I was going to get this just for the makeup case...but then I found an even better case and amazing mini makeup made by Re-Ment so I skipped Cabot and ordered those instead. He looks too much like the Director's Cut Ace McFly from the Cinematic convention...plus I still have the platinum hair Turn It Up Callum from last year.

Liu Liu Ling™ Dressed Doll
The Industry™
Yeah, I preordered this one. I think she is adorable. I like the big coat too and the little bag. The dress is okay...again, I think some festive colored tights would have helped this one along...or at least put a color lining in the coat. I love the hairstyle and color. I think she needs a bit more eye liner to pull this look off though and I will likely add some more. I also think I might give her some tattoos. I'm excited for the switchable lower legs. I hope shoe packs happen soon!
