Tulabelle 2.0! Sassy new updated look.
Integrity won me over years ago with their amazing detail and fashion forward designs for 1/6 scale dolls. When they launched the Tulabelle line, I was in love with the youthful looks and the amazing value. For at least fifty dollars less than other 16" dolls from competing companies, you would get a nice doll, amazing shoes and jewelry, a killer outfit, and a great handbag or hat.
IT has come back with a new wave of Tulabelle dolls but with a brand new "mature" head sculpt. Other collectors have noticed a likeness to FR16 doll Hanne Erickson. I can see the similarities (especially in Idol Thoughts) but I also still see the influence of Poppy Parker (the grandmother of Tulabelle). The new sculpt definitely fits more in the realm of the FR16 models. The original Tula sculpt is much more cartoony and youthful by comparison. I like the first one...but I also like this new one. I am trying hard to cut back on doll purchases in general...that said, I am REALLY tempted by the Sweet Tartan doll. I like the red hair and the outfit. So I might see if I can get her later on sale. If not, I will hold out for the future version that screams at me to buy it. I am tempted...but it is not keeping me up at night quite yet. Of course, it has only been a day.
In previous Tulabelle lines we have gotten at least one fashion that is a nod to a Poppy item in her closet. I am really hoping to see that cute sequin mini on a future poppy.
I love the outfit on Idol Thoughts. Amazing detail and the clever t-shirt with the mod Poppy face is perfect. This is one of those outfits that just makes everything that Tonner has given us in the last five years look like velcroed playline Barbie clothes in comparison. I mean looks at those pants people! And those sleeves?

Hate the hair on this one, but I get what they were going for...I just think it makes her hard to redress. The outfit is wonderful. The jewelry is fantastic. The detail on the bustier is great. The facial screening and hair color are also lovely.
