Well, Dolly Days has come and gone...as have the available dolls. It is getting to be a bit of a bloodsport lately trying to secure pre-orders. There is a disheartening number of people who seem to be in it for the flipping. I keep thinking about what that kind of thing did to the comic book market in the 90s. I doubt the same will happen here with Integrity dolls...but I do wish people would stop with the speculating and just buy what they like. As I have mentioned before, karma is real. That sort of behavior is also harmful to the market in the long run. I gave up on Integrity dolls about 11 years ago because I found the whole thing too stressful for words but then Jem and the super fun style labs at convention pulled me back in. Collectors are already being priced out by the Integrity's rising prices. But they are also having to fight for dolls on the secondary market when things sell out in less than an hour from the dealers. Or, they lose out on a lottery only to see people offering the lottery doll for sale at twice the price within minutes of the lottery winner email. It gets a little depressing...in a year that has already been hella depressing.
Perhaps I am being a pollyanna here, but I do hope that things chill out a bit when the entire world feels a little less desperate. There is definitely a feeling of scarcity this year with less dolls being offered overall (or at least that is my impression anyway). Though when I look at my shelf, I definitely have quite a few new additions from 2020 (with more on pre-order). But I wonder if the feeding frenzy and cutthroat collecting behavior is being fueled by the garbage fire of the world? So let's hope the kinder, gentler days are ahead. I don't want to have to cut someone to get some genuine molded plastic doll fixes.

Well, she's gorgeous. The gown and coat are very close to a really gorgeous OOaK auction doll that Chris Stoeckel did recently. Great screening. The new sculpt is really gorgeous. I love the two-tone hair. I passed on this one though because...say it with me, "I don't do gowns". Also, I have the swell Constance with the same exact hair from the Fashion Fairytale convention. The price has jumped on these which hurts...but at least they come with great pieces...killer jewels, gloves, bags, etc.

Again, gorgeous. I love the silver and blue here. I would really love to get my hands on that fur with the blue lining and the gloves. I really feel that Chris is their best designer. I feel that way about Mark Tinkey too. And I feel it is because both of them are such strong pattern-makers...the eye for construction really shows in the work. Both East 59th and the Misaki Nippon stuff has been super interesting to me. There was musing on the boards about what Chris could do with Fashion Royalty if given the chance. I think it would be an interesting experiment. I am looking forward to seeing Mark Tinkey's line as well. (nu Fantasy perhaps?).

Gorgeous. Sublime draping. Beautiful colors. The sculpt looks fantastic in this tone and with this screening. Also, this is much better deal in terms of playability for the price. I love the idea of this character too. Now I look forward to more characters and introducing more diversity into the line. I can't wait to pick this character up when we get a day look. It was pointed out that the Red Hot Evelyn and the Winter Shimmer Aurelia would pair nicely with all of these dolls. Chris definitely knows what he is doing. Bravo.

Well, I managed to not pick up a single doll from the Travel Poppy line. It has been quite a while since I skipped an entire line....like not even picking up a fashion. (Though I do really want the Milan fashion and hope to acquire it some day). I hope they offer the peace hand again. That is such a fun little thing.
I was not even remotely tempted by these two dolls. The fashions are pretty basic for the $150 price tag. I like them...but not for this amount. Both of these should have had a hat too. I might have considered India if she had a big boho brimmed hat.
