  Jackpot! The IFDC Poppy Parker collection is fantastic.  Originally planned as the farewell for IFDC, the pandemic killed plans for the regular convention.  I believe that is now happening next year instead...so we all get one more year of IFDC doll goodness. (I might actually try to go next year if it is safe.) Anyway, this year had four dolls designed by David Buttry and Vaughn Sawyers.  As per usual, a portion of each edition goes to IFDC attendees, and the rest goes to W Club members via a right-to-buy lottery.  Also as per usual, they are great so LOTS of people are going to fighting for these.  I put entries in for Kiss in the Shadows and Viva, Poppy!  I also traded my Lady Luck entry for an extra Viva, Poppy! entry.  Fingers crossed.  I do adore gift sets and this one is just about perfect.   W Club members were treated to a special lottery "right to buy" opportunity for the latest doll in the Jason Wu Collection: Fall 2018.  These dolls feature doll-sized versions of Jason Wu's real life couture. While previous offerings from this line featured the Velvet Touch body, this one does not. It also features a new sculpt: Iselin.  The collector response has been mixed. I am not sure about her.  She definitely has a lot in common with Jason's usual muse, Elyse Jolie (whom I like).  But something here is not currently doing it for me.  It might be the screening, but her eyes are giving me Melania vibes and I just can't. I also don't do gowns...so this was an easy pass.  At $199, she is much less than recent Wu Collection offerings (possibly because of the lack of velvet touch body?)   Post modeling poppy is now a 1970's jiggle television actor.  I really love the fashions here.  Not sure I need the blonde poppy but I am pretty tempted. I like the ash blonde here and the neutral makeup...plus the Hungarian skin tone is one I love. I am going to give it another day or two before I decide as $175 is a commitment. If I knew we were getting more dolls in this flavor...i might be more tempted.  I would love a Ginger as Jaqueline Smith or Darla with a 70's afro and Sabrina's fashion sense.  Or Tina could make a great Sabrina... I am surprised that Poppy is the first club doll since we are about to get the IFDC Poppies too.  Oye.  We must acknowledge that this year is completely wacky due to numerous amounts of global nonsense. It does seem the planning is out the window and that IT is just trying to get product out to us whenever they can to keep cash flow happening.
